Terms of service.
These terms govern your use of the Tanzeel app and the tanzeelalquran.com website. By installing the app or using the service you agree to them. We've kept this short and tried to write it like a person, not a contract template.
On this page
1. Your account
You need an account to sync data across devices, submit recordings to teachers, or message inside the app. You can browse, read, and memorise without an account; sync simply won't be available.
You're responsible for keeping your password safe. If you suspect unauthorised access, change your password and email support@tanzeelalquran.com immediately.
You must be old enough to consent to digital services in your country (typically 13+ in the US, 16+ in much of the EU). If you're younger, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf.
2. License to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Tanzeel app on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not: reverse-engineer the app, redistribute it, resell access to it, scrape data from our APIs in bulk, or use it to build a competing product. You may screenshot any verse for personal use; please don't repackage Tanzeel's UI as your own.
3. Content you create
Anything you create in the app — bookmarks, notes, recordings, messages — remains yours. We don't claim ownership of it.
By submitting a recording to a teacher, you grant the teacher and Tanzeel a limited license to play, review, store, and respond to that recording for the purpose of providing feedback. You can delete recordings at any time; deletion propagates within 30 days.
You're responsible for the legality of what you submit. Don't upload anything that isn't yours, isn't appropriate for an educational platform, or that you don't have the right to share.
4. Expert tutoring
Teachers in the network are independent contractors who hold Ijazah certifications. Tanzeel verifies their credentials before they join the network and reviews their feedback quality on an ongoing basis, but we do not guarantee any specific learning outcome.
Feedback is provided for educational purposes. It does not constitute a formal Ijazah unless explicitly granted by the teacher under their own programme. Communications with teachers happen through the app; please keep them respectful and on-topic.
5. Payments & refunds
The app itself is free. Expert tutoring is a paid service, billed per submission or as a package. All payments are processed by Apple's App Store under Apple's terms; we never see your card or banking details.
Refunds for tutoring credits are handled directly by Apple under its standard refund policy — request through reportaproblem.apple.com. If you have a quality concern about a specific feedback recording, email us within 14 days of receiving it and we'll review it.
Subscription auto-renewals (where applicable) are managed in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. You can turn auto-renew off at any time and keep access through the end of your billing period.
6. Acceptable use
While using Tanzeel, you agree not to:
- Use the app for anything illegal, harassing, or harmful to others
- Submit content that is obscene, hateful, or unrelated to Quran study
- Attempt to access another user's account, data, or recordings
- Probe, scan, or test the security of our systems without prior written consent
- Send automated traffic to our APIs or scrape data in bulk
- Impersonate a teacher, scholar, or staff member
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. For severe violations we may suspend immediately; for minor ones we'll usually warn first.
7. Third-party services
Tanzeel relies on a small set of vendors to function — listed in §6 of our privacy policy. Their availability is outside our control; if Apple's App Store, AWS, or DigitalOcean has an outage, the affected parts of Tanzeel will be affected too.
8. Disclaimers
Tanzeel is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to make it accurate and reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that every translation, Tafsir, or feedback will be free of error.
The Quran text is sourced from verified mushaf editions and checked against the King Fahd Complex edition. Translations are sourced from public translations via the Quran.com API; their interpretations belong to the translators, not to Tanzeel. For matters of religious ruling, please consult a qualified scholar.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MARIZ LLC's total liability for any claim arising from your use of Tanzeel is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost data, lost time, or lost spiritual opportunity — except where such limitation is not permitted by your local law.
10. Termination
You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete account, or by emailing us. Deletion erases your account and synced data within 30 days; recordings already submitted to a teacher remain accessible to that teacher per the timelines in our privacy policy.
We may terminate accounts that materially or repeatedly violate these terms, with notice where reasonable. Sections that should survive termination — payments, content licenses, disclaimers, liability — survive.
11. Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes (anything that affects your rights or our obligations) will be announced in-app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. If you continue using Tanzeel after the change, you accept the updated terms; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.
